My father has been here for over one year now, when ever, and at what time I visit he always appears settled, peaceful and happy. He likes going on the outings they organise and always enjoys them. The staff are all available at all times and always know how dad is at that moment in time, they are always approachable. They have got to knew him so well, they know quickly when he is unwell and, if needed, they organise a visit from the GP. As hard as it’s been to place dad into care I would not want him anywhere else, it is a very homely home.

I would like to say many thanks to the staff and manager for making my grandma very welcome. The home is a very high standard; all staff is promptly kept up to date with individual’s needs. The staff are wonderful, caring, pleasant and cheerful. The food is varied and of high quality, and rooms are kept clean. The staff also make visitors very welcome. For the residents at the home, they have activities such as flower arranging, painting, singing, movie nights and many more things to do! It’s a well-run residential home. I cannot thank the staff and manager for what they do. I would recommend this care home to anyone looking to place an elderly person.

My mum has been in Woodway House for over six months with needs related to Alzheimer’s. I visited over twenty homes trying to find one that would suit mum – and as soon as I walked into Woodway I knew it was right. Everyone is friendly and my mum is made to feel like a member of a big family (and always greeted with a smile). Her confusion is minimised by the caring staff and the fact that the staff are always the same faces. (It looks like staff retention in the six months I’ve been visiting is 100%!) And they’ve worked hard to get to know mum and to make her feel truly at home. The building itself is currently being remodeled to make it easier and more accessible for residents and employees. But it’s keeping the same lovely ‘home’ quality that first drew me to it. It’s not a ‘hotel’; there aren’t ridiculously thick carpets and up-to-date paint schemes. It’s the same sort of living environment that my mum was use to when she lived in her own house and it’s absolutely perfect for her. Her room is light & bright and she likes having her own things around her. I have total confidence in Ruth and her team. I get a phone call if necessary, but more often than not it’s a very quick chat to let me know what’s been going on with mum. And things are definitely going on! Mum has been on outings and takes part in organised activities. And the team there take the time to spend individual quality time with her – not just for personal care. I’m really pleased I found Woodway but more to the point, my mum is very happy and settled there.
